On 17 September, 2016 Moscow hosted the international conference "Electoral sovereignty in the global world: national strategies in the development of democracy institutions and the ensuring of the electoral rights of citizens". The conference was organised by the Association of Lawyers of Russia, the "Polycentric world" Fund and MGIMO (U) MFA of Russia.

The aim of the conference is consolidation of the electoral experience of different countries and informing the international community and international expert community on national diversity of electoral law, common ground and pecularities of modern elections processes, present and future of electoral democracies.

Leadership of the CEC of the Russian Federation, representatives of international elective bodies associations, national election commissions, parlaments and political parties from Europe, Asia, Latin America and CIS countries, as well as electoral law experts from the leading Russian universities, polytical analysts, representatives of the civil society took part in the conference.
